Liverpool have reportedly signalled their intent to push forward with the next stage of the development of Anfield.
In September 2016, work was completed on the Main Stand at the club's iconic ground, which took the capacity of the stadium up to 54,074.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the dramatic rise in matchday revenue has led to club officials looking to start work on the Anfield Road stand during the summer.
The report claims that Liverpool received provisional permission to work on the stand in 2014 and the club have until September 2019 to put forward concrete plans regarding adding more seats.
However, it is being said that discussions have already taken place behind the scenes about starting work on increasing the capacity of Anfield to over 60,000.
Liverpool are allegedly also weighing up the possibility of inviting offers from sponsors for the naming rights of the stand.
