Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has made contact with Norwegian Olympic skier Kjetil Jansrud after he paid tribute to the midfielder.
Jansrud is said to have worn 'number eight' to mirror Gerrard's shirt number when he won a bronze medal in the men's downhill event at the 2014 Sochi Games.
Now, the England international has told Jansrud that he will send the sportsman his famous shirt by the end of the week.
Via the Steven Gerrard Foundation Twitter account, the midfielder tweeted the skier saying: "@Kjansrud cheers for the text mate, and well done again, anna will get my shirt to you at the end of the week."
Jansrud responded by tweeting: "@SGF08 I am the one that should extend the thanks. Means a lot to me. Keep on inspiring us. #YNWA."
Gerrard's message came after he helped Liverpool secure a 5-1 victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
