Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has angrily denied allegations that he was involved in a 'drunken bust-up' at an Argentine nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 29-year-old was accused of being "visibly drunk" when his security guards clashed with photographers attempting to take a picture of him with girlfriend Karina Tejeda outside the club in Buenos Aires.
Local website Diario Show carried the allegations in an article entitled "The scandalous night of Kun Aguero and Karina in a nightclub", according to The Sun, and claimed: "The night did not end well.
"As it got into the early hours, a journalist from diarioshow.com wanted to photograph Kun's exit, but the footballer's security guards threatened him. Aguero, visibly drunk, did not intervene in the incident. And his bodyguards, far from pacifying the situation, would not permit the people in the area to approach the couple.
"To round it off, when the sportsman and the singer decided to leave, the bodyguards got them out by pushing people."
Responding to the story in a post on Twitter, Aguero said: "I'm told that in Buenos Aires there are versions circulating of something that is supposed to have happened in the early hours on Sunday. It's totally false.
"Nothing that has been said actually happened. I don't like to have to be denying everything, but I can't allow them to keep lying."
Aguero is currently on an extended summer break but is expected to rejoin his City teammates for pre-season shortly.
