Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has become the husband of two women after marrying his second wife in his home country of Ivory Coast.
The 28-year-old, who is believed to have wed Doukrou Laeticia last month, is already married to first wife Madah, who lives with the footballer in Ponteland with their two children.
The midfielder, who is a devout Muslim, is allowed to marry up to four women at any one time under Islamic law.
Tiote's agent Jean Musampa told The Chroncile: "I can say that he did get married and that it is his second marriage. This is nothing unusual. He is a Muslim."
Tiote joined the Magpies from FC Twente in 2010.
