Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that the club have decided to cancel this year's Christmas party.
The Magpies currently sit just two points away from the relegation zone in the Premier League table and Pardew believes that he and his squad don't deserve to celebrate.
"It's out of respect to our fans and what we've served this year," Pardew told the Shields Gazette. "There's no party for us and the same for the staff. That's how it should be."
Newcastle recorded their latest defeat at St James' Park by succumbing to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City.
