David Beckham has been named the second highest-earning retired athlete by Forbes magazine after pocketing around £50.5m last year.
The 39-year-old, who retired from football in 2013 following spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy and Paris Saint-German, appears to be making more money since hanging up his boots.
According to the US magazine, Beckham's earnings increased when he picked up around £13.5m for securing deals with the drinks company Diageo to launch Haig Club whisky and the Global Brands Group in Hong Kong to create various products, including clothing.
Beckham is second in the retired-athletes rich list, behind NBA star Michael Jordan, who pocketed £67m last year.
