Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been suspended from his duties as a Sky Sports pundit after being filmed spitting at a 14-year-old girl.
The 40-year-old described the incident, which took place in the aftermath of his former club's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend, as "a moment of madness".
Former England international Carragher was seen spitting at the teenager from his car after her Man United-supporting father repeatedly mentioned the scoreline.
Carragher, who was due to be part of Sky's Monday Night Football coverage this evening, met with his bosses earlier today and the decision has been taken to suspend him for the next fortnight.
A Sky statement read: "Sky takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie's actions. We have made that clear to him in person today and suspended him from his duties. It falls well below the standards we expect of our people."
A Danish television channel has also decided to pull the ex-defender from its coverage of Man United's meeting with Sevilla at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
