Former NBA star Doug Christie has apologised for taking part in a basketball trip with Dennis Rodman to North Korea, which is known for its poor human rights record.
Rodman assembled a US basketball team to play in a match to celebrate the birthday of controversial North Korea leader Kim Jong-Un last week.
Upon his return, Christie told TMZ: "I'd like to apologise to my family and friends and all my fellow Americans if what I did was un-American or unpatriotic."
Christie also said that if he had known what he does now, he "probably wouldn't" have gone on the trip.
