England legend Paul Gascoigne has reportedly left a rehab facility in the United States following treatment for his alcohol addiction.
The 45-year-old, who has had a long-running battle with alcohol and drugs, was admitted to the clinic following a public appearance in Northampton, where he was filmed on stage slurring his words.
Reports have claimed that the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will return to the UK this weekend in a bid to get his life "back on track".
"We're just delighted that Paul's back on track and coming home, where he can get back into his routine doing the things he enjoys, without the booze getting in the way ever again," a source told The Sun.
"He's been in good hands out there and he's worked really hard over the past month to get where he is. We were as shocked as anyone to see how bad things had got for Paul, and so we're just grateful that so many people stood by him like they did."
England and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is thought to be one of many figures within the game who helped fund the treatment.
