HBO is making a drama based on the famous 'Battle of the Sexes' tennis match, contested between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in the 1970s.
Paul Giamatti has been cast as Riggs and The Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks as King, according to Deadline.
Proof writer David Auburn will provide a screenplay for the untitled project, and Playtone duo Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will serve as executive producers, along with Banks and her Brownstone Productions partner Max Handelman.
The 'Battle of the Sexes' took place in 1973, with 29-year-old King defeating 55-year-old retired former Wimbledon champion Riggs 6–4 6–3 6–3.
