Premier League referee Kevin Friend has been released from hospital after collapsing during Tuesday's Premier League match between Bournemouth and Southampton.
Friend was the fourth official during last night's game at the Vitality Stadium and had to spend the night in hospital after banging his head on the dugout in the first half.
He has now been released but will not be on duty this weekend as concussion protocols are to be followed, so the Premier League will appoint a new official for Saturday's match between Southampton and Sunderland.
Friend had to be replaced last night by non-league referee Dean Treleaven, who was a spectator in the crowd.
