World heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko has confirmed that he will run for Ukrainian presidency in 2015.
The WBC belt holder made his statement in response to a parliamentary bill that bars candidates who have lived outside Ukraine in the past 10 years.
Klitschko has resided in Germany for many years, but is determined to become president of Ukraine despite the recent bill.
"Everything that has taken part in parliament today, does not intimidate me and will not stop me," Klitschko told reporters.
"I want to declare this, I will run for president."
Klitschko is head of the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reforms party, who came third in last year's elections.
The 42-year-old had been rumoured to be a potential opponent for British heavyweight David Haye, but will almost certainly retire from boxing ahead of the 2015 general election in Ukraine.
