Transgender boxing promoter Kellie Maloney has vowed to help Frank Bruno battle depression after the Brit was admitted to hospital last week.
Bruno, who is a former WBC heavyweight champion, has been sectioned three times in the past 12 years due to his struggles with bipolar disorder.
Maloney, formerly known as Frank, believes that she can give Bruno some advice as she too has battled depression.
"If he comes out of hospital and wants someone to speak to then I'd be there," the Daily Star quotes Maloney as saying.
"I've been through a lot myself and I know what depression is like. I've suffered with a split personality and been through some very emotional times.
"I also checked myself into a clinic in 2004 and was there for about six weeks. I would be happy to be there for him and as a friend. Frank is a national treasure."
Maloney used to represent British fighter Lennox Lewis.
