TV host and journalist Piers Morgan has reportedly helped pay for former England star Paul Gascoigne to go to rehab in the US.
The 45-year-old, who has previously battled with alcoholism and drug abuse, has been admitted to the Rehabilitation Centre in Phoenix, Arizona after he reverted back to drinking.
It is believed that DJ Chris Evans, who has been a friend of Gascoigne for some time, enlisted the help of Morgan and the midfielder's former teammate Gary Lineker to pay for the ex-Newcastle United player's £6,000-a-week treatment, according to The Sun.
Reports have also claimed that the trio paid £13,600 for a first-class ticket to the US for Gascoigne on a British Airways flight.
