Great Britain Fed Cup Team captain Judy Murray has praised Elena Baltacha's 'determination' after it was announced that the former British number one has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver.
The 30-year-old, who retired from tennis in November last year, has insisted that she will give everything to beat her illness.
"Obviously this is a tough time for Bally, Nino and her family but she is a such a determined, upbeat person and everyone around her is staying positive as well," Murray told the LTA website. "I know she'll be really grateful for all the support that she's getting."
Baltacha won 11 ITF titles during her career.
