Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has become the latest famous figure to create an account on social networking website Twitter.
The 46-year-old has become an online presence just months after he hit the headlines for spending a stint in a US rehab facility in a bid to battle his alcohol addiction.
Despite coming through the treatment, the ex-midfielder was later arrested and fined £1,000 for a drunken assault at a railway station in the summer.
Gascoigne has amassed over 270,000 followers in 18 hours, two of whom include television host Piers Morgan and his former England teammate Gary Lineker.
