Oscar Pistorius's murder trial in South Africa has been adjourned until June 30 while the Paralympic champion undergoes psychiatric assessment.
Judge Thokozile Masipa has ordered the 27-year-old to visit Weskoppies psychiatric hospital in Pretoria as an outpatient from May 26 in a bid to learn of his mental state at the time of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp's killing.
The double amputee athlete is accused of murdering the South African model by firing four shots through a bathroom door at his home in Pretoria on Valentine's Day last year.
The decision was made after Dr Merryl Vorster told the High Court last week that Pistorius has been suffering with an anxiety disorder since childhood.
Pistorius denies murder by maintaining that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he fired the shots.
