A female police officer has pleaded guilty to falsely obtaining CCTV footage of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard being involved in an alleged street dispute, which included his wife Alex.
PC Helen Jones initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of misconduct, but has since changed her stance ahead of a scheduled trial at Preston Crown Court in Lancashire.
According to the Daily Mail, the 31-year-old, who was on sabbatical from Merseyside Police, is believed to have pretended to be on duty in order to get the video footage from a bank in Formby.
The alleged incident involving Gerrard, his wife and the footballer's friend Lee McPartland is the subject of a legal battle in the High Court.
Paul Alan Lloyd, who lives on the same road as Gerrard, is believed to be seeking damages from the former England international and the other two involved.
The alleged dispute is said to have taken place on August 8, 2013.
