FIA president Jean Todt has revealed that Michael Schumacher can live a "relatively normal life" after suffering serious head injuries following a skiing accident last December.
The seven-time Formula 1 champion has been continuing his recovery at his home in Lausanne since September, shortly after he awoke from a coma.
Schumacher was placed in an induced coma in a hospital in Grenoble for around six months after he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French resort of Meribel on December 29.
"We may assume that Schumacher can live a relatively normal life within a short period of time," Todt told RTL. "What we can say is that he will probably never again drive a Formula One car."
Todt is believed to have visited Schumacher at his home in the week before the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday.
