Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher is in a stable condition in a Grenoble hospital, according to a new statement.
The German has been treated in an induced coma since hitting his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.
This is the first statement that does not mention the word 'critical' when describing the sportsman's condition.
According to The AP, Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm said: "Michael's family is very happy and confident with the work of the team of doctors treating Michael, and they trust them completely. Michael's condition is still considered as stable."
Schumacher has had two operations on his brain since being admitted to hospital.
