Former NFL safety Darren Sharper will reportedly serve nine years of a 20-year sentence in prison for raping three women.
The 39-year-old, who played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints in his career, entered a plea deal at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Sharper pleaded no contest to drugging and raping two women in Los Angeles, but via video link, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman in Arizona.
According to TMZ, as part of the plea deal across four states, Louisiana prosecutors have agreed that after serving nine years behind bars, Sharper will be on parole and probation for the remaining 11 years of his sentence.
Some media reports had stated that the ex-American football player would be in jail for a full 20-year term.
