Italian football chiefs have confirmed that Serie A will adopt the vanishing spray that was on show at this summer's World Cup.
The foam substance, which leaves a mark for 30 seconds before disappearing, is used at free kicks to stop opposition players encroaching the 10-yard distance.
Maurizio Beretta, the president of Lega Serie A, announced that the spray will be used by Italian referees from the start of the forthcoming season in the top two divisions.
A report in the The Mirror claims that Spain's La Liga could also follow the lead by introducing the spray next season, but there are no plans for it to be trialled in the Premier League.
