The son of Brazilian football legend Pele is sentenced for 33 years for laundering money from drug trafficking.

The son of Brazilian football legend Pele has been sentenced to 33 years in jail for laundering money raised from drug trafficking.

Edinho, a retired footballer, was first arrested back in 2005 and admits to being a drug addict.

The ruling was issued by a judge in the coastal city of Praia Grande, in Sao Paulo state.

Edinho was a goalkeeper for Pele's former club, Santos.
