Uruguay's World Cup squad have discovered that their hotel is infested with termites ahead of their match against England this evening.
The players were woken in the middle of the night after finding the insects crawling in the bedsheets.
While the Uruguayan media has claimed that the termites were planted by England fans in a bid to distract the team, a police source told the Daily Star: "The team checked the rooms in search of bombs and chemical and nuclear weapons. Afterwards they were sealed off by hotel workers and handed over to FIFA. It's impossible these men didn't see the swarm."
Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera shared an image of the infestation on Twitter:
Earlier this week, the team's caramel-flavoured spread was confiscated by customs.
