West Bromwich Albion reveal that their sponsorship agreement with Zoopla was due to come to an end this summer.

A statement from West Bromwich Albion has revealed that the Premier League side's contract with Zoopla was due to come to an end this summer.

The property website has been the main sponsor of the Baggies since 2012, but it had been suggested that Nicolas Anelka's recent publicity over an anti-Semitic gesture had forced Zoopla to end the agreement.

However, West Brom have claimed that the club were "fully aware" that the sponsorship was due to end this summer and that they will now "actively seek" a new sponsor.

"West Bromwich Albion has been fully aware since the sponsorship agreement came into force in June 2012 that its partnership with Zoopla could expire this summer and therefore has been planning accordingly," read the statement.

"Zoopla has today informed the club in writing that it does not wish to extend its sponsorship deal. The club will now actively seek a new Official Sponsor for next season."

Zoopla is part-owned by Jewish businessman Alex Chesterman.
