Brindisi Breeze has clinched the Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, which is the last race before the highly anticipated Gold Cup.
The bookies' favourite Boston Bob started off brightly in the early stages of the race, leading at the front with five behind but failed to keep the momentum and fell behind Brindisi Breeze and Big Occasion with three hurdles left to jump.
Mesiter Eckhart, Dawn Commander, Hard to Swallow and Grand Vision stayed in contention for the final stretch, but a strong ride from Brindisi Breeze for Campbell Gillies secured the top spot.
The next race in the calendar is the Gold Cup with Kauto Star and Long Run going head to head for first place.
