Cartmel's racing meet on Bank Holiday Monday has been cancelled because of heavy rain in Cumbria.
Heavy showers on Saturday evening alongside a bleak forecast have led to the postponement.
Clerk of the course Anthea Morshead said: "It's a big Bank Holiday meeting for Cartmel and we've had to abandon with a heavy heart.
"We've had two feet of rain since early June and already five inches in August.
"We'd be struggling to race today and the forecast suggests we could get anything between 20 and 30 millimetres of rain tomorrow. It's disappointing, but the safety of horses and jockeys is paramount."
Racing did manage to take place at the track on Thursday and Saturday.
