Grand National-winning jockey Ryan Mania has been airlifted to hospital after falling during a race at Hexham this afternoon.
The 23-year-old was aboard Stagecoach Jasper in the 3.10 race at the Northumberland course when he was unseated at the first fence.
The Scot was tended to by paramedics for more than 30 minutes before being flown to hospital.
Mania rode 66-1 outsider Auroras Encore to victory in the Grand National at Aintree yesterday.
