A formal written offer has been made for Bradford Bulls, according to the Rugby Football League.
Bulls administrator Brendan Guilfoyle claimed that a local consortium had made a bid for the club last Thursday. The RFL then cooled speculation by saying that nothing had been put in writing.
However, the governing body have now confirmed that a group of Asian businessmen - known as the ABC consortium - have officially submitted a detailed offer.
"The RFL have received details of the formal written offer and they are currently being evaluated by the executive for presentation to the board," said a spokesman.
It is thought that the offer may be conditional on the club being spared relegation, as well as being allowed to buy back the lease to Odsal Stadium.
Bradford are due to travel to second-place Warrington Wolves on Sunday.
