Sam Tomkins could be passed fit in time to feature for England during Saturday's Test match against France.
The 26-year-old has been struggling to shake off a knee injury that he picked up while in action for the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL earlier this year.
However, head coach Steve McNamara has revealed that the full-back, who has not played for two months, has a "strong chance" of being available for the clash against the French.
"Sam has had an issue from the NRL season. If Sam's fit he will be considered, if he's not we'll get him right for the week after," McNamara told reporters.
"He's a strong chance of playing this week. We'll probably know a little bit more after another session tomorrow."
McNamara also confirmed that captain Sean O'Loughlin missed today's training session.
