England captain Sean O'Loughlin is out of England's opening Four Nations clash against Samoa, and is replaced by James Graham.

England captain Sean O'Loughlin has not been included in the squad for Saturday's opening Four Nations match against Samoa in Brisbane due to a quad problem.

The Wigan Warriors forward will play no part in the game at the Suncorp Stadium after he suffered the injury during his side's 14-6 defeat to St Helens in the Super League Grand Final almost a fortnight ago.

James Graham will take the captaincy for this weekend's game, while head coach Steve McNamara has opted to call on four debutants - Matty Smith, Joe Westerman, Josh Hodgson and Daryl Clark.

O'Loughlin is expected to be fit to play in England's match against Australia in Melbourne on November 2.

England's 17-man squad:

Sam Tomkins (New Zealand Warriors, Wigan St Patricks), Josh Charnley (Wigan Warriors, Wigan St Patricks), Kallum Watkins (Leeds Rhinos, Latchford Albion), Michael Shenton (Castleford Tigers, Upton), Ryan Hall (Leeds Rhinos, Oulton Raiders), Gareth Widdop (St George Illawarra Dragons, King Cross), Matty Smith (Wigan Warriors, Blackbrook), George Burgess (South Sydney Rabbitohs, Dewsbury Moor), Josh Hodgson (Hull KR, East Hull), James Graham (captain) (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Blackbrook), Liam Farrell (Wigan Warriors, Wigan St Patricks), Joel Tomkins (Wigan Warriors, Wigan St Patricks), Joe Westerman (Hull FC, Featherstone Lions), Daryl Clark (Castleford Tigers, Fryston Warriors), Brett Ferres (Huddersfield Giants, Smawthorne Panthers), Tom Burgess (South Sydney Rabbitohs, Dewsbury Moor), Chris Hill (Warrington Wolves, New Spring Lions)
