Paul Anderson cites a desire to win major trophies at Huddersfield Giants as his reasoning behind signing a new two-year contract.

Paul Anderson has admitted that the thought of winning major trophies at Huddersfield Giants played a big part in his decision to sign a new two-year contract at the club.

The 43-year-old took over from Nathan Brown at the John Smith's Stadium in 2012, guiding his side to to the League Leaders' Shield in his first year at the helm.

Having followed that achievement up by finishing in third place at the end of the regular Super League season last time out, Anderson is now hoping to taste further success.

"My continuation here has never really been an issue to me as the club has always been good to their word and I'm happy we are now able to announce it," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"I am proud to coach this club and work with good people who have the right ethics I believe to take us forward.

"I know the ambition here is huge and that's great as it matches mine in wanting to be the first coach that delivers a major trophy to the club."

Huddersfield are currently fourth in the league table ahead of their meeting with Wigan Warriors this weekend.
