Salford Red Devils owners Marwan Koukash brands those responsible for post-match violence at Huddersfield Giants "thugs" and promises that they will be "dealt with".

Salford Red Devils have said that troublemakers who reportedly caused a fracas between spectators and players will be "dealt with".

The altercation came after the Red Devils' 26-24 victory over relegation-threatened Huddersfield Giants at the John Smith's Stadium, when the players went over to applaud their own fans.

Reports suggest that a child and some of the team's family members became crushed in the melee as players tried to intervene.

After the game, Salford owner Marwan Koukash tweeted: "My apologies to @Giantsrl and to the decent fans. The thugs responsible will be identified and dealt with. There is no place in RL for them."

No supporters are believed to have been injured in the fracas, but a steward required treatment by St John's Ambulance, according to the Huddersfield Examiner.
