Salford Red Devils saw off a late rally from Hull FC to record a 35-22 victory over their Super League rivals.
The home side raced into a 13-0 half-time lead courtesy of tries from Rangi Chase and Mason Caton-Brown - both of which were converted - before a drop goal by Chase on the hooter extended their lead a little further.
Salford went 19 points ahead early in the second period when Chase scored his second try of the evening, but two Hull tries in quick succession from Dean Hadley and Kirk Yeaman made the home side a little edgy.
Any fears of a Hull comeback quickly dissipated, though, when Greg Johnson and Darrell Griffin scored two tries in as many minutes to put the home side 19 points ahead once more.
Although Yeaman and Jamie Shaul crossed the line late on for the visitors, they proved to be little more than consolations, as Caton-Brown touched down for Salford once more in the final minute.
