Nathan Brown was pleased with St Helens' "commitment of effort" during their 14-10 win over Salford City Reds yesterday evening.
The Saints survived a strong finish from their opponents to hold on for the win in snowy conditions at Langtree Park.
The team's head coach told Sky Sports News: "I have never seen conditions like it and it's a credit to all those who helped get the game on.
"I was pleased with our guys commitment and effort. Paul Wellens was great on his return and Nathan Ashe did well at hooker.
"We had to tough it out and find a way to win. Salford were committed and it didn't matter whether we won by one, two or 20 points."
The result moved St Helens up to third in the Super League table.
