St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham has admitted that his side were taught a lesson during their 39-0 defeat to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the World Club Challenge.
The Australian side scored seven tries at Langtree Park in a dominant display, but Cunningham insists that his side are much better than they showed.
He told Sky Sports News: "I really am disappointed. We probably got schooled by the best side in the world.
"Sometimes you've got to to lose in a big fashion to learn some lessons. It's going to be a good education from my players, especially my younger players. I know my team are a lot better than they tossed up."
Australian sides won all three of the World Club Series matches, as St George Illawarra beat Warrington Wolves and the Brisbane Broncos beat Wigan Warriors.
