St Helens assistant coach Keiron Cunningham said that he is "proud as punch" after watching his players book a place in the Super League Grand Final for the first time since 2011.
The Saints reached the final after defeating Catalans Dragons 30-12 at Langtree Park, and Cunningham believes that his side were worthy winners.
"We are at the big dance and the boys deserve it. Against all the adversity with the players we've lost, I'm proud as punch for the boys," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
"Defensively they were great. Catalan are a good side but we scrambled so well. We knew if we just stuck to the gameplan we could eventually grind Catalan down.
"We started a little nervous but the atmosphere was great and the players are really wanting it."
Saints will take on either Wigan Warriors or Warrington Wolves in the final.
