St Helens head coach Keiron Cunningham has hit out at his players after they let slip an 18-6 lead to lose 32-22 against Hull FC.
Cunningham warned that he would not be afraid to make some of Saints' big-earners "sit in the stand", following a second half in which the Black and Whites scored five tries.
"That was one of the worst games of rugby league I have seen for a long time," he told reporters.
"There were three players out there who put their hands up every week - Mark Percival, James Roby and Alex Walmsley - the rest of the boys sort of cruise along.
"I was bemused and couldn't get my head around the performance. I am stuck for words, to be honest."
Saints are now third in the first tier of Super 8s, five points behind leaders Leeds Rhinos.
