St Helens full-back Paul Wellens is adamant his side will be ready for Wigan Warriors when the two teams face each other in Saturday's Super League Grand Final.
The 34-year-old, who will be playing in a record-equalling 10th final, has also paid tribute to his opponents in the build-up to the clash.
"It is a fantastic occasion and one as a team and a group we are excited about. Wigan have a formidable team, they have shown that and it will be a tough challenge but it is one we are really looking forward to," Wellens told the club's official website.
"Saints versus Wigan are usually competitive games. There is an intense rivalry between the two clubs and it is great to be part of that. There is a respect there too and it all makes for a great game on a stage that can be no bigger.
"I don't think any of the games this season will have any bearing on this one. You will have two committed teams going at each other."
Today's encounter will be the third time that St Helens and Wigan have met in the Super League Grand Final, with honours so far shared.
