Huddersfield Giants held off a spirited fightback from Wigan Warriors to win 31-22 in the Super League this evening.
The visitors started the brighter of the two sides, and they raced into the lead thanks to two tries from Sean O'Loughlin and Matt Bowen.
However, the home side started to find their rhythm and Aaron Murphy went over the line to reduce the deficit on 23 minutes before Shaun Lunt and Joe Wardle scored tries of their own.
Danny Brough kicked four first-half conversions, while also adding a drop goal as the Giants went in at the break with the lead.
Jermaine McGillvary added to another Wardle try after the restart before Dominic Manfredi and Joe Burgess reduced the arrears somewhat for Wigan.
The win takes the Giants to within two points of Wigan in fourth in the division.
