Cooper Vuna cautious of Wales backlash

Australia winger Cooper Vuna expects a backlash from Wales in the second Test in Melbourne on Saturday.

Australia winger Cooper Vuna has warned his team-mates of a potential Welsh backlash following their 27-19 victory over the Grand Slam winners in the first Test last Saturday.

Vuna, who switched codes from rugby league, made his debut for the Wallabies in their hard-fought victory and is hopeful of retaining his spot for the second Test in Melbourne on Saturday.

Despite being wary of a Wales response, the 24-year-old believes that Australia should be able to win if they stick to their game plan.

"I guess we're just going to try and stick to the same game plan. As much as we can stay close to the game plan, I guess we'll come up with a good result," Vuna said.

"It's going to be a hard game. Wales will definitely bounce back and, whoever wins round two, it's going to be a good battle.

"It's going to be exciting and the boys are ready for it, they're up for the challenge and I guess we're just going to wait for the weekend and see what the result is at the end."

Vuna, who was born in New Zealand, had previously been named in the Kiwis' 2008 Rugby League World Cup squad before making three appearances for the Tongan national side.
