Will Genia: 'It was a rollercoaster of emotions'

Australia scrum-half Will Genia tells Sports Mole that he was more relieved than anything else at the dramatic conclusion of his side's quarter-final win over Scotland.

Australia scrum-half Will Genia has admitted that relief was his overriding emotion following the quarter-final victory over Scotland at Twickenham this afternoon.

The Wallabies booked themselves a semi-final showdown against Argentina with the win, but it was anything but straightforward as Bernard Foley's penalty in the last minute rescued a one-point victory.

The contest swung both ways over the course of a thrilling 80 minutes, and Genia, who was watching from the bench as the match reached its dramatic conclusion, declared himself "proud" of his side's performance.

"It was a rollercoaster of emotions. You're up, you're down, you're in the game, you're out of the game, and when you're sitting on the sidelines you can't do anything to influence the result," he told Sports Mole.

"I don't know how to feel - more relieved than anything. I'm just so proud of the effort once again and I'm really looking forward to another week of being part of the Rugby World Cup."

Should Australia beat Argentina in the last four then they would face either defending champions New Zealand or South Africa in the final on Saturday, October 31.
