Former England international Iain Balshaw has announced his retirement after failing to recover from a knee injury.
Balshaw, 35, won 35 caps for England and came on as a replacement during the 2003 World Cup final win over Australia in Sydney.
"After 16 months of unsuccessful rehab it is finally time to call it a day on my rugby career," Balshaw said on his official Twitter account on Friday.
The former Bath, Leeds, Gloucester and Biarritz back also played three tests for the British and Irish Lions on their 2001 tour of Australia.
