London Wasps winger Christian Wade has expressed his desire to "get stuck in" after being called up to the British and Irish Lions squad.
The 22-year-old, who became the first-ever player to win the Aviva Premiership Players' Player of the Year as well as Young Player of the Year last season, was drafted into the tourists' squad on Saturday night along with Wales legend Shane Williams.
Having only made his England debut earlier this month, Wade is delighted to be involved with the Lions and is raring to go.
"It has been a bit of a rollercoaster few days and week. I've just made my debut for England and now I'm out here," Wade told the official Lions website.
"I'm happy to be here and I just want to get stuck in. I'm starting tomorrow and that is the first step, but if I do get handed the opportunity to play in the Test then I will gladly take it - it would be the proudest day of my life so far.
"It is a massive thrill for me to play with Shane [Williams]. I have watched him from a distance, and tried to learn from him, but to be able to play alongside him is beyond my dreams. I never got the chance to play against him and to be able to play with him is taking it to the next level."
Wade will start when the Lions face the Brumbies on Tuesday.
