Clermont Auvergne full-back Nick Abendanon says that he does not understand why he has not earned more caps for England.
The ex-Bath back has impressed since joining Les Jaunards and was man of the match in their 37-5 Champions Cup quarter-final victory over Northampton Saints.
Speaking after the game at the Stade Marcel Michelin, Abendanon refused to give up hope of a call-up for the Rugby World Cup later this year.
He told Sky Sports: "There's been no communication so I've just got to keep working here and if Clermont keep playing well then maybe I'll be called up to the World Cup training squad but we'll see.
"Deep down I'm still upset that over the last 10 years I've only had two caps and I've always wanted to play more for England."
Abendanon made 207 appearances in nine years at Bath prior to his move to France.
