England Rugby Sevens head coach Simon Amor speaks of his excitement ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

England Rugby Sevens head coach Simon Amor has expressed his belief that the Commonwealth Games are a "wonderful thing to be a part of".

England have been drawn alongside Sri Lanka, Uganda and Australia in Group D of the two-day sevens tournament, which will take place at Ibrox Stadium on July 26 and July 27.

Amor has his own playing experience of the Games having helped England to a silver medal in 2006 - still the team's only podium finish since the sport was introduced in 1998 - and he is confident that the current crop will thrive off the atmosphere.

"It's a wonderful thing to be a part of. We're one of the first teams to compete so we'll be finishing relatively early, but the sense of walking into the stadium, being part of that wonderful situation where you're rubbing shoulders with some world-class athletes," Amor told reporters.

"It's a little bit like being part of England connected to the seniors, but on a far grander scale. It's about feeling that sense of teamship and the pride that comes with that. But then deep down it's about putting that to one side and focusing on what we have done this season and what we need to do come game time."

Amor named his 12-man squad for the Games earlier this week.
