England and Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care has paid tribute to Mike Tindall after the outside centre decided to retire from professional rugby.
After a 17-year career, which includes a 2003 World Cup winners' medal, Tindall has opted to step away from the sport.
The 35-year-old's player-coach contract at Gloucester expired at the end of last season, but he was not offered fresh terms by the club.
After Tindall announced the news, Care wrote on Twitter: "Sad to see The Lord @miketindall13 hang up his boots. Was awesome to get to play with you mate! One of the best lads you'll meet."
Tindall spent eight years playing for Bath before joining Gloucester in 2005.
