Martin Johnson has stepped down as England rugby coach after months of speculation regarding his future.
The managerial position of the 41-year-old has come into question after England's disastrous World Cup campaign in New Zealand.
After the furore surrounding the national squad throughout the competition, including a late-night drinking session in Queenstown, the former Leicester Tigers lock has been forced to resign.
The fall-out of the tournament has resulted in former captain Mike Tindall being axed from the squad as well as fined £25,000.
Teammates Chris Ashton and James Haskell were dealt warnings over their behaviour along with £5,000 fines from the RFU.
A statement from the union is expected shortly.
