Mike Brown: 'I can become one of world's best full-backs'

Harlequins ace Mike Brown hopes to take on advice from England head coach Eddie Jones in order to become one of the best full-backs in world rugby.

Mike Brown has insisted that he is pushing himself to become "one of the best" full-backs in world rugby.

The 30-year-old faces pressure from Saracens' Alex Goode in the England fold, while at club level he is aiming to push Harlequins into a second European Challenge Cup final in the space of five years to further his cause.

Brown believes that there is still more to come from him in the coming years, leading up to the 2019 World Cup in Japan, as he aims to take on board advice from Red Rose boss Eddie Jones in particular.

"The competition's in my head," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "If I keep pushing myself, I believe I can be one of the best players in the world in my position.

"I believe that, and you have to have that confidence and belief if you want to play and thrive at the top level. I work hard every day on the training field, hard on what Eddie wants me to do and what the Quins coaches want me to do.

"I do feel over the next four years I've got so much more to give and learn, and to progress. You've got to keep believing you can get better and I do honestly believe that."

Brown is in strong contention to be among England's travelling party for June's three-Test tour of Australia.
