Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi has played down the idea that England do not possess enough experience to compete with the top teams.
England achieved a shock upset when they beat New Zealand 38-21 at Twickenham at the weekend.
Tuilagi believes that the result proves that England do not need experience to do well ahead of hosting the 2015 World Cup.
"Everyone counted us out, everyone wrote us off, everyone thought we had no chance," said Tuilagi. "But we never stopped believing in ourselves.
"Put the caps of Carter and Richie McCaw together and they had more than our whole squad combined.
"It's not about experience, though, it's about the performance on the day. And the boys pulled out a good one."
Tuilagi has 14 caps for England.
